Cestria Veterinary Centre ltd

Cestria Veterinary Centre ltd, (Turnpark, Station Road, Chester-Le-Street, Durham, DH3 3DY) has worked steadily over the years to promote a positive experience for animals visiting us.   Puppies are ‘treated’ after their vaccination (which over the years has resulted in a marked improvement in dog behaviour within the surgery), cats enjoy a quiet waiting room and dedicated quiet ward for in patients.   I’ve successfully treated needle shy horses with BAT to allow intravenous injection without drama!

My partner introduced me to ICB, and we were both founder members.  I’ve advised ICB members about veterinary aspects relating to behaviour, and am happy to help anyone with a question.   I am a dog trainer and Kennel Club A1 examiner for the GCDS.  I’m happy to work individually with ‘vet shy’ dogs, and managed to successfully apply an intranasal vaccine to a really ‘vet shy’ collie after a lot of introductory work last year, fingers remain intact.   Yes, I did have to muzzle her for safety, but managed with minimal restraint and a large number of hot dogs.  I ‘work with’ difficult cats, usually successfully, using minimal restraint.

if you feel that my practice would be worthy of addition to your list, or if you have any other questions, please get in touch using cestria.vets@btconnect.com   .   Our website is www.cestriavet.co.uk if you are interested.

Yours sincerely
